Overview

The VMD202 is the most advanced single-piece vehicle motion detector on the market today. The probe and its electronics are housed in a slim design that is buried next to a driveway. The optional VMD202-R sensitivity remote makes installation and fine-tuning simple.

Program the VMD202 vehicle motion detector’s 10 sensitivity settings with the VMD202-R and the setting is retained in non-volatile memory. Then the VMD202-R can be removed and used for multiple installations, or left in place if tampering is not a concern.

The VMD202 vehicle motion detector accepts a wide range of power inputs – 12-39 VDC or 12-27 VAC. The low standby current of 70 uA is great for solar power applications.

The VMD202 vehicle motion detector is supplied with a 50-ft. lead. The optional sensitivity remote is sold separately.

Accessories

The P120 Voltage convertor is recommended when using this product with CAME automation.

Installation

Install at least:

6-10 feet (1.8 – 3.1m) away from buried power, telephone, or invisible dog fence
10 feet (3.1m) away from natural gas lines
20 feet (6.1m) away from a power pole with a transformer
100 (30.5m) feet back from railroad traffic
200 (61m) feet away from high power substation power lines
30 (9.1m) feet back from the gate operator

Do not install the Probe or lead wire near or parallel to:

Low-voltage lighting wires
Telephone lines or intercom systems
Electric motors or control relays
Overhead power lines and transformers or underground power
Cell phone towers, TV towers or communications links
Moving metal flagpoles, fences, gates or horses with metal shoes
Do not mount on any moving surface such as bridges or walkways that may vibrate under traffic
